
Qualifying Conditions - NEW YORK
According to the New York Medical Marijuana Amendment, the following conditions are qualified diagnoses that can be certified by a medical marijuana doctor so that you can apply for a medical marijuana card.
There are a number of amendments to the law that have been proposed that would expand the number of qualifying diagnoses.
There are qualified medical diagnoses to get a New York medical marijuana ID card:

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

Cancer
-
Chronic pain
-
Damage to the nervous tissue of the spinal cord with objective neurological indication of intractable spasticity

Epilepsy
-
HIV /AIDS
-
Inflammatory bowel disease

Huntington's disease
-
Multiple sclerosis
-
Neuropathy
-
Opioid use disorder (only if enrolled in a treatment program pursuant to article 32 of the mental hygiene law.)

Opioid replacement
-
Parkinson's disease
-
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Any of the following conditions where it is clinically associated with, or a complication of, a condition under this paragraph or its treatment:

Cachexia/Wasting syndrome

Post-traumatic stress disorder
-
Severe or chronic pain
-
Severe nausea
-
Severe or persistent muscle spasm
-
Seizures
-
Opioid use disorder (only if enrolled in a treatment program pursuant to article 32 of the mental hygiene law)
